First I met Rails about 3 years ago, that time I was using C#. I was wondering if there was a good ORM that can dynamically adapt to the database. When I found Rails, I was so happy.

Now when I tried Merb 0.9 and Datamapper 0.9. I was overjoyed!!

Go go go, Merb and Datamapper!!! :D

Thanks for your comment. After this incident I have refrained from commenting on Cedrics writings. Not all gems in the Google mine I presume.

"unfortunately he did not communicate it well just as it seems Jeff failed to fully communicate what he was after…"

Yeah, obviously I learned after this debacle. However, it was the same preso I had given to gobs of other developers, and never had any problems before. In prior talks, the dissenters actually voiced their concerns, etc., in the room, and we had honest discussions, as opposed to this case, where I was attacked after I left the building. I did express limitations of TDD, and so on. The talk was solicited as a very introductory overview of TDD, and that's what it was. Certain people came in with other agendas, and they heard what they wanted to hear.

There is a lot of articles floating around for Merb on how simple it is etc. But I had a tough time to get to a decent tutorial and get started. I am not a senior rails developer.
Hence I started to write my own. I am going to catalog my journey as I go through setting it up and using it.
If you are also running into issues with setting up Merb, look at http://opensrcideas.blogspot.com/2008/05/merb-sherb-for-newbies-part-i.html .

@Pat: Great hearing from you! I will not make it to XP2008 though, but I will most probably be in London somewhere around the same time as you - this time beers are on me.
